The differently Abled Child  has special needs and with special attention and opportunity given to them  their quality of life can be improved  to fulfill their potential.

At  Sith Sewena  there are currently  seventy  children and the costs of maintenance of the residence is shown under the heading “About Us”

The institution has  therapeutic clinics for both the intellectual and physical disabilities. In addition  specially trained Speech Therapists visit the institution on a regular basis.

Two percent of the child population in the Moneragala district fall into the category of Differently Abled and Handicapped either mentally or physically. Ninety five percent of these families of these children come from  the low income group.

Chena cultivation is the only source of a livelihood for these families.

On the 8th of May 1999 the Resident Director Mr. Sarath , Lanka, Perera gave birth to his brain child  called  Sith Sewana Mentally Handicapped Childrens’ Development Society at Tanamalwilla.

Irrespective of  caste, creed, race, rich or poor the doors of Sith Sewana are open any time of the Day or Night.

The sacredness of the human life is well worth to be kept in mind.
