Sith Sewana was founded on 8th May 1999 by Mr. Sarath Lanka Perera in the serene setting of Tanamalwilla, Sri Lanka. Starting with just five children, his vision was simple yet powerful — to develop hidden potential and provide vocational training suited to each child's abilities.
Over the years, the home grew to accommodate 70 children (boys and girls), with dedicated dormitories, a dining hall, and spaces for religious worship. After Mr. Perera's passing in December 2022, his daughter U.L.C.S.P. Perera and son-in-law M.K.M.S. Sasanka carry forward his legacy with the same devotion and care.
95% of the children come from low-income families who rely on chena cultivation for survival. Sith Sewana gives these children a chance at a better life.

Safe and nurturing living environment with separate dormitories for boys and girls, a dining hall, and all essential facilities for daily life and comfort.
Specialized medical programs including knee prosthesis fittings, eye clinics, hearing aid assessments, and regular health check-ups for all residents.
Regular visits from specially trained speech therapists who work with children to develop communication skills and expressive language abilities.
Hands-on skills development including crafts, envelope making, coconut shell spoon production, and other vocations that build independence and generate income.
A Buddhist temple and dedicated spaces for Christians and other religions, supporting each child's spiritual growth and personal beliefs.
Dedicated support for learning and cognitive development, tailored to each child's pace, helping them achieve academic and personal milestones.
