It has been planned to take some of the Catholic children to visit the Sacred church in Madhu. The trip will start on the 6th of December and it is our intention to return to Tanamalwila on the 9th of December.
Ten children will be taken along with the necessary Wardens and care givers who will look after their needs during the whole journey.
On our return it is our intention to visit several other places of worship and interest such as The” 11 Martyrs” who sacrificed their lives, because of our religion and were assassinated by the Dutch, The Mannar Fort, The Saint Annes Talawila holy church,, The” Kelle Palliya” , The Kalpitiya Dutch Fort, and the Marawila Holy Cross church.
The objectives of this pilgrimage being to provide the special children the opportunity for rehabilitation, and socialization, which has proven to be more effective than medication. |
