This is to bring to the notice of readers of this web site that Mr Lanka Perera the Chairmen and Managing Director of Sith Sewana Tanamalwila passed away on the 5th of Dec 2022
From a small beginning on the 8th of May 1999 with five children, Sith Sewana has now grown to 70 child residents, both boys and Girls. From just a bare land Mr Lanka Perera was able to construct Dormitories for the girls and separate Dormitories for the boys with attached toilets. And all other necessities
He has built a comfortable Dining room which was recently reconditioned with new ceiling fans, related wirings. And other requirements.
The Boys dormitory was completely over hauled with ceiling to keep away reptiles and fully refurbished walls and toilets. It even got new beds and mattresses where necessary. In addition to many other constructions was the special dormitory for Girls below the age of 15 years so that they could be separated from the seniors.
In addition to improving the living conditions of the children he was concerned about their religious beliefs and built a Buddhist Temple that could house over a hundred people . He also had a special area for the Christians, and other religions to worship.
His main intention was to bring the children to near normalcy as possible and make them an asset to society.
This he achieved to great extent and continued on this path until his untimely death on the 5th 0f December 2022. His death left a void which was felt and thought will be difficult to fill..
Luckily for Sith Sewana his two daughters ( CHRISTEEN AND THERISITA PERERA ) have volunteered to take over from where Mr Lanka Perera left and to take the responsibility of running and looking after the necessities of Sith Sewana which in fact will be a formidable task.
We request all the previous supporters of Sith Sewana and those who will be new contributors to continue with your good deeds.. for which Sith Sewana and the residents will be ever grateful.
